Emerging Trends in Computer Science : Question and Solution
Q.1. List some of the cloud-based services that you are using at present.
- Platform as a Service (PaaS) – Online Coding Platforms
- Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) – Amazon Web Services
- Software as a Service (SaaS) – Google Docs
Q.2.Write short notes on the following:
a) Cloud Computing
Answer: In Cloud Computing the resources like memory, processing power, other resources are shared. Cloud computing help in decreasing the cost of hardware required like for a server with a provider which provides server like service .
b) Big data and its Characteristics
Answer: Big data means huge number of data . Suppose a CCTV is giving a data of a store to see that whether there is shoplifting or not. This huge memory data will go through analysis.
Q.3.Explain the following along with their applications.
a) Artificial Intelligence
Answer: Simulation of human intelligence processes with machine. Application is google assistant using NLP(Natural language programming) which takes our speech and converts in words.
b) Machine Learning
Answer: Machine learning is a method of data analysis that automates analytical model building. It is a branch of artificial intelligence based on the idea that systems can learn from data, identify patterns and make decisions with minimal human intervention
Q.4.Differentiate between cloud computing and grid computing with suitable examples.
Answer: Cloud computing is client server computing architecture while grid computing is distributed computer architecture. Cloud is centralized executive while grid computing is decentralized executive. Cloud computing is more flexible than grid computing. In cloud computing the user pay for use while in grid computing no one pays for use.
Q.5.Justify the following statement:
“Storage of data is cost-effective and time saving in cloud computing.”
Answer: Nowadays our requirement of hardware like disk size and processing power is increasing instead of buying hardware for such task such task can be done on the cloud hence cost effective. As many middleware and installation is done in normal system but in cloud computing experts are there they have created plug and play more for the site.
Q.6.What is on-demand service? How it is provided incloud computing?
Answer: On-demand service allows end users to use cloud computing, storage, software and other resources instantly and in many cases without limits. In Cloud computing it takes the input takes the program and run that in cloud processing space considering that the system we have will hang or the calculation need is to highly precise calculation.
Q.7.Write examples of the following:
a) Government provided cloud computing platform
b) Large scale private cloud service providers and the services they provide
Answer-a) Government provided cloud computing platform: “GI Cloud” which has been named as ‘MeghRaj’
b) Large scale private cloud service providers and the services they provide: Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a giant that enables companies across the globe to develop their digital infrastructure entirely or partially using the cloud. It provides virtual platforms, online servers, storages.
Q.8.A company interested in cloud computing is looking for a provider who offers a set of basic services, such as virtual server provisioning and on demand storage that can be combined into a platform for deploying and running customized applications. What type of cloud computing model fits these requirements?
a) Platform as a Service
b) Software as a Service
c) Application as a Service
d) Infrastructure as a Service
Answer- Infrastructure as a Service
Q 9. If the government plans to make a smart school by applying IoT concepts, how can each of the following be implemented in order to transform a school into IoT-enabled smart school?
Answer: Ncert provides online book.
b) Smart boards
Answer: By Artificial intelligence in taking the teacher hand movement and showing it on the screen through projector
c) Online Tests
Answer: By checking whether student or test giver is seeing anywhere else i.e cheating artifical intelligence can be used.
d) Wifi sensors on classrooms doors
Answer: Connects the classroom doors with Wifi sensor to calculate attendance and providing internet to their devices.
e) Sensors in buses to monitor their location
Answer: Tells whether the driver is over speeding or sleeping through location and camera sensor.
f) Wearables (watches or smart belts) for attendance monitoring.
Answer: With the other sensors fitted at different places in office/school we can calculate where the student/ employee is.
Q.10.Five friends plan to try a startup. However, they have a limited budget and limited computer infrastructure. How can they avail the benefits of cloud services to launch their startup?
Answer. Taking up cloud service on yearly base or quarter base they can use word[press, hostinger etc.
Q.11.Governments provide various scholarships to students of different classes. Prepare a report on how
blockchain technology can be used to promote accountability, transparency and efficiency in
distribution of scholarships?
As blockchain technology keeps a record highly encrypted in different locations one cannot change the details everywhere at the same time.
Q.12.How are IoT and WoT related?
Answer: IoT aims to create a network of objects, things, people, services, and applications, whereas WoT integrates them into the web. WoT is closely related to IoT; it’s an additional application layer added to IoT’s network layer to maximize connectivity.
Q.13.What do you understand by the Internet of Things?
Answer: List some of its potential applications.
Internet of Things (Iot) is a network of devices that have an embedded hardware or software to communicate with other devices on the same network.
Smart city spans a wide variety of use cases, from traffic management to water distribution, to waste management, urban security and environmental monitoring. Its popularity is fueled by the fact that many Smart City solutions promise to alleviate real pains of people living in cities these days. IoT solutions in the area of Smart City solve traffic congestion problems, reduce noise and pollution and help make cities safer.
